Placing the roof card
Moving the Rhino Hero
Cards are stacked, walls are built in specific ways
Board Game Snapshot – Rhino Hero from HABA USA. A fun take on building a house of cards. Players are racing to be the first to empty their hand of roof cards building a skyscraper for our Rhino Hero to climb in his efforts to find burglars and rogues. Players have to place wall cards in an exact layout as shown on the floor. Each card has a specific layout of walls that must be exactly built, then a roof card is placed on top. The roof card becomes the floor for the next level. Certain roof cards have actions or abilities that trigger when placed: Skipping a player, reversing the play order, having a player draw an extra card, placing 2 roof cards, or moving the rhino hero up the building. Be careful not to make the building topple or you lose. Great family game!!

The Game of 49
Board Game Snapshot: The Game of 49. Think of this as multi-player Connect 4 auction style board game. The game board has 49 spaces. Players start with $49. Each turn a card is revealed, showing a space on the board. That space goes up for auction, with the person winning the bid placing their color chip on the board. Players can pass on a card and if all players pass, that card is eliminated from the game. Certain cards are wild spaces and have payouts where players receive $7 per chip on the board up to $49. The first person to get 4 in a row wins. If the deck of cards is exhausted, the person with the most chips on the board wins.
My 7 yr. old nephew played it right, winning the game with a high bid of $50 for the winning space.
Bang! The Dice Game
One player is the sheriff, the others play hidden roles of either deputies, outlaws or renegades in this 3-8 player dice game. Each player is given a character with their own special power. The deputies try to protect the sheriff, the outlaws try to kill the sheriff and the deputies, and the renegades try to be the last ones alive. Players roll dice trying to use the results to attack and “kill” the other players, eliminating them from the game, thus revealing their hidden role. But, there are arrows that can cause an Indian attack, dynamite that can blow you up, a Gatling gun that hits everyone else, or…..give a guy a beer and restore 1 life point for them. Fun fast-paced dice game.
